What Is Elysium? Kinetiq's Hyperliquid Layer 2, Explained
Elysium is Kinetiq's Layer 2 for Hyperliquid: an Arbitrum Orbit chain settling to HyperEVM, with HYPE gas and 100 ms blocks. How it works, how to bridge, what's deployed, and what token teams should know before launching there.

Elysium is a general-purpose, high-performance Layer 2 for Hyperliquid built by Kinetiq. Technically it's an Arbitrum Orbit (Nitro) chain whose state settles to HyperEVM, Hyperliquid's EVM chain; it uses HYPE for gas and produces 100 ms blocks (about 300 ms until a transaction receipt). The public mainnet launches on 9 November 2026; the mainnet chain (ID 99901) has run as a private mainnet since 19 October 2026, and a public testnet (chain ID 99801) has been open since 22 September.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Who builds it? | Kinetiq, the HYPE liquid-staking protocol, with Conduit operating the chain |
| What kind of chain? | A Layer 2 for Hyperliquid on Arbitrum Orbit (Nitro) |
| Where does it settle? | HyperEVM (chain ID 999) |
| Gas token | HYPE, bridged 1:1 from HyperEVM |
| Speed | 100 ms blocks (about 300 ms until a transaction receipt) |
| Mainnet | Public launch 9 November 2026; private mainnet since 19 October 2026 |

Why build a Layer 2 for Hyperliquid?
Hyperliquid's own EVM chain, HyperEVM, shares block space with everything else in the ecosystem. Elysium gives applications a dedicated, high-throughput chain — 100 ms blocks and a 300 Mgas/s target — while keeping HYPE as the currency and HyperEVM as the place its state is anchored. For users it looks like any EVM chain: the same wallets, the same token standards, the same contracts.
How Elysium works
- Execution: a standard EVM on Arbitrum Nitro (stock ArbOS), so Solidity and Vyper contracts deploy unchanged.
- Sequencing: a single sequencer orders transactions by priority fee, with no privileged lanes and no public mempool.
- Data: AnyTrust data availability committee, falling back to posting full data on HyperEVM.
- Proofs: whitelisted validators at launch, with permissionless proving planned later.
How to get onto Elysium
HyperEVM is the gateway. Deposit HYPE on HyperEVM into Elysium's official bridge and it arrives as native gas on Elysium, 1:1. ERC-20 tokens cross through the canonical bridge the same way, and a mirror bridge brings them back. Coming from HyperCore or another chain, move to HyperEVM first. Withdrawals back to HyperEVM are optimistic, so they wait out a challenge period rather than settling instantly.
Uniswap on Elysium
Uniswap V2, V3 and V4 are all deployed on Elysium — 19 contracts from a single deployer, with WHYPE as the routers' wrapped native token. The V2 Factory is 0xbbbcc62853a5fa27b93d6bab3e6f7ce841e25df2, the V3 Factory 0x1707327f626496a7b5b3872e7e4d2879df7d7a9f and the V4 PoolManager 0xe2e105d3f7209a9da11f83ccf3e7398a753823f1.
This is Uniswap's own deployment: every contract was deployed by 0x2179a60856e37dfeaaca0ab043b931fe224b27b6, the wallet Uniswap uses for its official deployments on other chains (it is the sender in Uniswap's own deployment records on GitHub, and on Unichain it deployed contracts Uniswap's official Unichain list names). @Uniswap announced “Uniswap is coming to Elysium”, and Titan verified every contract on-chain on 5 November 2026.
No token, no airdrop
Elysium has no token of its own and no points program: HYPE is the gas token. Half of Elysium's sequencer revenue buys Kinetiq's KNTQ on the open market. Any “Elysium token claim” is a scam.
What token teams should know
- Gas includes an L1 data component — a plain HYPE transfer costs about 21,140 gas, so scripts that hard-code 21,000 fail.
- There's no public mempool to watch, and ordering is by priority fee.
- HyperCore precompiles and CoreWriter from HyperEVM aren't available on Elysium at launch.
- Fee-on-transfer and rebasing tokens can't use the official bridge.
- Buyers will check whether your liquidity is locked and your team tokens vest — plan both before launch day.

Not to be confused with VulcanForged's Elysium
VulcanForged runs an unrelated chain also named Elysium (chain IDs 1338/1339, PYR/LAVA gas). Dashboards and chain lists that show an “Elysium” with those details — DefiLlama's entry among them — mean that chain, not Kinetiq's.
Frequently asked questions
What is Elysium?
Elysium is a general-purpose, high-performance Layer 2 for Hyperliquid built by Kinetiq: an Arbitrum Orbit (Nitro) chain that settles to HyperEVM, uses HYPE for gas and produces 100 ms blocks (about 300 ms until a transaction receipt).
Is Elysium a Layer 1 or Layer 2?
A Layer 2. Elysium runs its own sequencer and settles its state to HyperEVM, Hyperliquid's EVM chain.
What's Elysium's gas token?
HYPE. It's bridged 1:1 from HyperEVM and used natively for gas on Elysium.
When is Elysium mainnet?
The public mainnet launches on 9 November 2026. The mainnet chain (ID 99901) has run as a private mainnet since 19 October 2026, and a public testnet (chain ID 99801) is live.
Does Elysium have a token or airdrop?
No. HYPE is the gas token; there's no Elysium token or points program. 50% of sequencer revenue buys Kinetiq's KNTQ.
Can I use MetaMask on Elysium?
Yes. Elysium is a standard EVM chain; add it as a network with its chain ID and RPC from Elysium's official docs.
Is Uniswap available on Elysium?
Yes. Uniswap's official V2, V3 and V4 contracts are deployed on Elysium by Uniswap's own deployment wallet (0x2179a60856e37dfeaaca0ab043b931fe224b27b6), with WHYPE as the wrapped native token.
