Elysium is a general-purpose, high-performance Layer 2 for Hyperliquid built by Kinetiq. It's an Arbitrum Orbit (Nitro) chain that settles to HyperEVM, uses HYPE as its gas token, and produces 100 ms blocks (about 300 ms until a transaction receipt). Kinetiq — the HYPE liquid-staking protocol — operates it with Conduit. Mainnet is scheduled for 9 November 2026; a public testnet (chain ID 99801) is live.

How Elysium relates to Hyperliquid and HyperEVM
Hyperliquid runs two layers: HyperCore (its order-book exchange) and HyperEVM (its EVM chain, chain ID 999). Elysium is a separate chain built on top: its blocks are produced by its own sequencer and its state is settled to HyperEVM, the way Arbitrum chains settle to their parent chain. HYPE is the native currency on all three, so HYPE on Elysium is the same asset bridged across, not a new token.
Getting HYPE and tokens onto Elysium
- HYPE: deposit HYPE on HyperEVM into Elysium's bridge and receive native HYPE on Elysium 1:1 for gas.
- ERC-20 tokens: move from HyperEVM through Elysium's canonical (Nitro) bridge; a mirror bridge carries them back.
- HyperEVM is the only source chain for the official bridge — from HyperCore or another chain, go through HyperEVM first.
- Withdrawals back to HyperEVM are optimistic, with a challenge period, so they are not instant.
- Fee-on-transfer and rebasing tokens are not supported by the bridge.
What builders should know
- Gas includes an L1 component: Nitro charges for posting data to HyperEVM, so a plain HYPE transfer uses about 21,140 gas — hard-coding 21,000 fails.
- There is no public mempool: pending-transaction subscriptions return nothing, and transactions are ordered by priority fee.
- Multicall3 is at the canonical address 0xcA11bde05977b3631167028862bE2a173976CA11.
- HyperEVM's HyperCore precompiles and CoreWriter are not available on Elysium at launch; a HyperCore market-data precompile is planned after mainnet.
- Uniswap V2, V3 and V4 are deployed on Elysium, with WHYPE (Wrapped HYPE) as the routers' wrapped native token — see Uniswap contracts on Elysium.
Not the same as VulcanForged's Elysium
A different, unrelated blockchain also called Elysium is run by VulcanForged (chain IDs 1338 and 1339, gas token PYR/LAVA). Some chain lists and DeFi dashboards — including DefiLlama's “Elysium” entry — refer to that chain. Kinetiq's Elysium uses HYPE for gas and testnet chain ID 99801; check the gas token and chain ID before adding a network to your wallet.
